It's late, I can't sleep, and time only seems to be going slower.
It's been 12:45 AM for a while now.
Thoughts are scary but words are comforting.
If you're feeling guilty about being in a bad head space, this is my love letter to you:
Hi you,
Being at war with yourself is hard as it is. Take a second to feel everything. It's easy to start feeling guilty for not being your best self. That's what mental illness does best.
I want you to know that what you're feeling is completely incontrollable and it doesn't discriminate. People may remind you of all the million reasons why you shouldn't be feeling the way you do but your feelings are valid, YOU ARE VALID.
Not performing well at work, canceling plans, leaving places too early, or even eating cup noodles and chips for dinner every day? You're still on your path to healing, and that's okay.
If there are people who want to help you, even though your mind is racing with a thousand and one thoughts, and if you are assured that you are safe, wanted, and loved, accepting help is your stepping stone to healing.
But don't rush, you don't need to fix everything so soon <3
Love,
Jerusha
